The biggest air show in Romania - Bucharest International Air Show & General Aviation Exhibition (BIAS 2012) will be held on the days of 21 and 22 July 2012, on Bucharest Băneasa – Aurel Vlaicu International Airport and will be organized under the high patronage of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, by the National Airports Company Bucharest, in partnership with the General City Hall of the Municipality of Bucharest.

Celebrating 100 years of aeronautical history a Bucharest Baneasa Airport, this year's air show brings together, for the first time in Bucharest, two of the most famous aerial acrobatics in the world: Tricolori Arrows (Italy) and Turkish Stars (Turkey).

Frecce Tricolori it represents the Italian Air Force and is the largest formation of aerobatics, evolving with NO aircraft, at a speed of almost 900 km / h. Pilots aspiring to be a member of the prestigious Frecce Tricolori must have at least 750 flight hours on a jet aircraft.

Turkish Stars is part of the Turkish Air Force and is the only formation in the world to evolve with 8 aircraft supersonic combat. The band gained squadron status in 1993 and is considered the youngest supersonic aerial stunt team in the world.

During the event many other names from the elite of the world aerobatics will evolve. In the two days, Bucharest Baneasa Airport will host the first general aviation exhibition in Romania - General Aviation Exhibition, where different types of aircraft will be displayed, from ultra-light aircraft to business jets.

The program of the event includes leisure flights for the public, aerodrome demonstrations, as well as music and entertainment shows.

Bucharest National Airport Company intends to Bucharest International Air Show & General Aviation Exhibition to become an emblematic event for Romania, placing Bucharest on the international map of events in the aviation field.

Entrance of the public is free, at this year's edition is estimated an extremely large participation of the spectators, about 50.000 persons. Access is through Romaero. Parking spaces are strictly limited, we recommend using public transportation.
