Despite the economic crisis, high fuel prices and lower passenger numbers, there are air carriers looking to expand. Turkish Airlines is one of the few companies that make purchases during this period.

Last day, Boeing and Turkish Airlines announced an agreement whereby Turkish operator wants 15 aircraft Boeing 777-300ER. The contract value is 4.7 billion, if it is calculated at the list price and still has the option of 5 more units.

From a few observations, Turkish Airlines does not rush to order Airbus A380 and Boeing 747-8i. It seems to be better with 777 or A330 / A340 aircraft.

Turkish Airlines operates a fleet of 200 aircraft (100 are Boeing) to 200 from destinations in 90 countries!
