Turkish Airlines will fly to Cluj, TAROM and Pegasus on standby
Last month, on 20 April 2016, we announced the route Cluj - Istanbul with TAROM (from 1 June). Shortly, rumors announced that the Cluj-Istanbul route would also be operated by Pegasus, a low-cost Istanbul-based operator.
But things don't stop there. Yesterday, Cristian Dumitru (our watchful colleague) discovered an official announcement by Turkish Airlines.
"The Incorporation has decided to start operating scheduled flights, based on fleet availability, to Cluj of Romania."
Is there such a high demand for this route that it can be operated by 3 air carriers? We do not believe! For several days, TAROM has removed the direct flight from Cluj to Istanbul. Pegasus has not yet confirmed the route, a sign that he has not yet received approval. And we don't think he'll announce it either.
We are waiting for the official announcement from Turkish Airlines for this route. The rumors on forum.fly-ra.com/ announces that Cluj - Istanbul route will be honored with 4 weekly flights.
