A Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane, badly damaged at Yangon airport

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane crashed at landing on the runway of Yangon International Airport this evening.

This is the Havilland Canada DHC-8-402Q Dash 8 (S2-AGQ) aircraft, according to images broadcast by The Myanmar Times. The aircraft operated flight BG060, on the route Dhaka - Yangon.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft damaged

An airport source confirmed that the incident occurred during the landing, in heavy rain conditions and low visibility.

On board the plane were 30 passengers and 6 crew members. All the people survived, but 11 of them were injured.

According to the images, the aircraft was badly damaged. The wings and fuselage suffered significant damage. The intervention crews acted quickly and ensured the evacuation of passengers. There was no fire.

The De Havilland Canada DHC-8-400 aircraft was 8.2 years old. It was configured in a class with 74 seats. Propulsion was provided by 2 PW100 / 150 engines.
