A small plane crashed at Diamantina Airport, Brazil. As a result of the plane crash, three of the four occupants of the aircraft were injured.

The accident happened on the morning of Saturday, January 2, 2021, while trying to land at Diamantina Airport, 290 km from Belo Horizonte. The plane flew from São Paulo and had the mission to take over a patient with COVID-19 from Diamantina.

According to preliminary information provided by the Military Fire Brigade of Minas Gerais (CBMMG), the aircraft landed to perform aeromedical transport and was severely damaged after landing.

According to CBMMG, the aircraft is a twin-engine Learjet aircraft from Brasil Vida Taxi Aereo. She left the runway at the time of landing, plunging into a ravine.

The slightly injured were identified by CBMMG as nurse João Carlos Barbosa, 35, Amanda Amanda Gabriela Dourado, 24, and co-pilot Eduardo Valim Macena, 30. Pilot Mauricio de Carvalho, 32, was not injured.

An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the plane crash.
