A pilot used a parachute to land the plane (Video)
The pilot of a Cirrus SR22 plane chose to use the parachute to land the plane. That's after he reported problems with the aircraft engine.
On October 12, the pilot of a Cirrus SR22 reported that the plane's engine was losing power but also a burning smell. He originally planned to land on Alpha Road, Texas. But because of the trees, he decided to use the parachute to bring the plane to the ground. He landed in a parking lot. The plane suffered major damage, but no injuries were reported. The 2 occupants of the aircraft received medical care.
Aircraft landed with the help of the parachute
The plane took off from Addison (Midland Airpark) to Waco. Unfortunately, the plane's engine failed to fly, and you already know the outcome. Cirrus SR22 aircraft have Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS).
