On October 12, the pilot of a Cirrus SR22 reported that the plane's engine was losing power but also a burning smell. He originally planned to land on Alpha Road, Texas. But because of the trees, he decided to use the parachute to bring the plane to the ground. He landed in a parking lot. The plane suffered major damage, but no injuries were reported. The 2 occupants of the aircraft received medical care.
