The beginning of this month brings a world record for Porsche and Air France. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel towed an Airbus A380 Air France over a distance of 42 meters. For this project, Air France provided the H6 hangar at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. It has an area of 60 square meters, specially designed to accommodate the largest commercial passenger aircraft - Airbus A000.
Porsche Cayenne and Airbus A380 Air France
The contrast between the two cars was amazing. A Porsche Cayenne (4,8 meters long) was connected to the world's largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380 (73 m long), via a special towing system, which is standard at Cayenne.
The world record was set by a Cayenne S Diesel, with 385 CP and torque of 850 Nm. The exercise was then repeated with a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. The Porsche driver-technician was Richard Payne.
