United Airlines has acquired the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner

On September 24, Boeing delivered to United Airlines the first 787 Dreamliner in North America. United will use the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner on medium and long routes to Africa, Asia and Europe, but the first flights will be on domestic routes.

Delivery of the 787 aircraft strengthens the 80 partnership of years between the two companies, according to a statement made by Ray Conner, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. This is the first Dreamliner among the 50 787 ordered. The aircraft is configured in 3 classes: 36 of United BusinessFirst seats, 72 of seats at United Economy Plus and 111 seats at United Economy.

Before entering operational service, the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner is expected to arrive in Houston for a period of preparation, certification program and non-commercial flight to each United hub.
