President and CEO United Airlines, Jeffrey Smisek, said he is looking for a bigger plane than Airbus A350-900, but is not tempted by Airbus A380.

Speaking at Aviation Week during a visit to Frankfurt, Smisek said: "Airbus A380 is a bit big for what we need, and Airbus A350-900 may be a little small for some routes„. Models A350-1000, Boeing 777X and Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental are considered for long-haul flights.

UNITED is preparing to take possession of the first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in September, plus other 5 units by the end of the year.
