Update 7 December 2015: The opening of the Cluj-Warsaw route will be postponed. The first flight was originally scheduled for January 2. After the new verifications, it seems that the first flight will be operated on March 30, 2016, once the summer season starts. The new timetable presented on the LOT Polish Airlines website:

The year 2016 will start in force for the "Avram Iancu" International Airport in Cluj. From January 2, 2016, LOT Polish Airlines will open the route Cluj - Warsaw. There will be 4 flights a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Travel tickets can already be purchased, the destination being accessible through booking systems or on the company's website.
The flight Cluj-Napoca - Warsaw will provide connections with the main cities in Poland, with important airports throughout Europe, but also with destinations in the United States (Chicago, New York), Canada (Toronto), China (Beijing) and Japan (Tokyo). .
The General Manager of the Cluj airport, Mr. David Ciceo specified: “We are glad that the airline operator LOT has announced the start of the flights from Cluj. Negotiations with this company began in 2007, culminating today with a triple premiere for Cluj International Airport: a new airline, a new destination in our network of routes - Warsaw and a new European country - Poland. Our passengers will have the opportunity to fly to the capital of Poland, an important air hub and from there, onwards, to all the connections offered by the Polish air operator. "
Initial, the Cluj-Warsaw route was to be operated by Eurolot starting with 27 October 2014, but this has not happened. In the spring of this year, Europlot has suspended its activity.
The price of the plane tickets will start from 223 EURO, round trip and with taxes included. The flights Warsaw - Cluj - Warsaw will be honored with Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft (De Havilland DHC-8 400), according to the schedule:
LO651: Warsaw 11:40 - 14:20 Cluj
LO652: Cluj 14:55 - 15:30 Warsaw
LOT Polish Airlines has taken over the 11 Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft from EuroLOT.
