UPS and FedEx are working together to transport the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to the United States

FedEx and UPS start working together to deliver first batch of COVID-19 vaccines to US, after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

Both cargo carriers have said they are ready to deliver the doses of vaccine. UPS Global Healthcare President Wes Wheeler said the United States was split between the two airlines.

“FedEx and UPS have divided the country in two; we know exactly what states we have and what states they have, ”Wheeler said.

Regarding this transportation of sensitive goods, UPS CEO Carol Tome said: “We have dedicated people and workers around the world who have been trained to store, handle, transport and deliver vaccines. We are pleased to support our healthcare partners with intelligent and efficient logistics for these vaccines. ”

The vaccines were reportedly packaged at the Pfizer plant in Michigan and will be shipped to FedEx and UPS distribution centers.

Ward Speed's chief operational officer, General Gustave F Perna, said 145 locations would receive the vaccine on Monday, 425 on Tuesday and 66 on Wednesday.
