As of today, August 31, British travelers traveling to Italy no longer have to be quarantined, provided they are fully vaccinated. However, it must show a negative result of a COVID-19 test.
The Italian Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, declared that the quarantine obligation will be canceled starting today (August 31).
To be considered fully vaccinated, travelers must have a complete vaccination schedule (two-dose or single-dose, as appropriate) and at least 14 days before arrival in Italy.
Upon entry into Italy, travelers must also show a negative result of a negative PCR / antigen test performed within 48 hours of arrival in Italy.
Italy introduced the five-day isolation restriction on June 21 due to the spread of the Delta variant in the UK. Furthermore, those who are not fully vaccinated will have to be quarantined for five days in Italy and up to 10 days on their return to the UK.
For the four states in the UK, Italy is still on the amber list.
