(Video) Azerbaijan Airlines takes possession of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft
On 23 December 2014, Azerbaijan Airlines took possession of the first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in the fleet, and the second arrived on December 24 at the base in Baku.
The two 787 Dreamliner aircraft, registered VP-BBS "Ordubad" and VP-BBR "Fizuli", are configured in 3 classes: 18 seats in Business Class, 35 seats in Premium Economy and 157 seats in Economy Class. Through these aircraft, AZAL wants to increase the competitiveness and quality of services on international flights.
The new aircraft will enter operational service shortly, with the first announced destinations being Beijing and London. It is not excluded to see them on the route Baku - New York, which is currently operated with Airbus A340-500.
Azerbaijan Airlines operates a fleet of 30 aircraft and flies to 20 from destinations in the United States, China, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Middle East and Europe.
