This weekend, the "Avram Iancu" International Airport in Cluj marked a premiere. On Saturday evening, the silence of the night was disturbed by the engine noise of a Boeing C-17 Globemaster, this being the heaviest and perhaps the largest aircraft to visit Cluj.
Boeing C-17 Globemaster of NATO Strategic Air Capability, based in Pápa in Hungary, is on a weekend visit to Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport. The countries participating in NATO Strategic Air Capability are Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and the United States and two Peace Partnership countries, Finland and Sweden.
