The first Airbus A350-900 Finnair successfully operated the inaugural flight, at the Airbus base in Toulouse. The aircraft will enter the final production phase, which includes ground and air tests. Finnair will be the first airline in Europe and the world's 3 with the Airbus A350 XWB in the fleet, with the aircraft to be delivered shortly.

Finnair has ordered 19 A350-900 XWB aircraft and will use them on long routes, starting with flights between Helsinki and Shanghai. The A350 Finnair aircraft will be configured in three classes and will be able to carry up to 297 passengers. They will replace the current Airbu A340-300.
