On 1 December, 2015, the first Airbus A350-900 XWB (MSN024) TAM Airlines successfully operated the first flight, departing from Toulouse base. It will be delivered in January 2016. Until delivery, the aircraft will continue to test on the ground and in the air.

LATAM Airlines Group, consisting of LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines, ordered 27 Airbus A350-900 XWB aircraft. The first A350 (PR-XTA), under the colors of TAM Airlines, is scheduled to enter operational service, starting with January 25, 2016, on the route Sao Paulo-Guarulhos - Manaus-Eduardo Gomes. International flights from Sao Paulo to Miami, Madrid and Orlando will follow. The plane is configured in 2 classes: 30 seats in Business Class and 318 seats in Economy Class.
