Today, but 46 years ago, the only supersonic passenger plane to fly off the ground in the first test flight. It's about Concord, the unmistakable and unmatched supersonic passenger plane with 27 years of activity in the commercial service.
The first flight in Concorde history
On 2 March 1969, after several months of ground tests, but also after a few delays due to adverse weather conditions, Concord F-WTSS 001 operated the first flight in history under the command of pilot Andre Turkey. The aircraft took off from Toulouse-Blagnac around 15: 30, and the flight took 29 minutes.
