(Video) SriLankan Airlines gives up Airbus A340-300

Today, 7 January 2016, SriLankan Airlines operated the last commercial flight with an Airbus A340 aircraft, this being on the Chennai - Colombo route. After more than 2 decades, SriLankan Airlines says goodbye to the last one Airbus A340-300 from the fleet.

SriLankan Airlines was the first airline in the Asia area with A340-300 in the fleet, the first aircraft being received on 1 September 1994. During the 21 years of operation, 7 A340 aircraft were the basis of the long-haul SriLankan Airlines fleet.

SriLankan Airlines currently has a fleet of 22 Airbus aircraft (6 x Airbus A320-200, 2 x Airbus A321-200, 7 x Airbus A330-200, 7 x Airbus A330-XNUM). 300 years. SriLankan Airlines also placed order for 8 Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
