Virgin Australia tablet testing has begun Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Android on board its aircraft. These will be given for use by business class passengers, for free and for leisure.

As of May, the airline will also provide economy class passengers, within the limits of those available and for a fee, but only on flights longer than 3 hours. No tariffs have been announced yet.

What's more, Virgin Australia promises that by the end of 2012, it will equip all aircraft Boeing 737 with wi-fi internet. Thus, passengers will be able to enjoy the internet on their own compatible gadgets - laptop, smartphone, tablet. Even Apple laptop owners will have access through a special application.

Virgin Australia CEO John Borghetti said he would equip the entire fleet, including aircraft Airbus A330, with Lufthansa BoardConnect wireless equipment, and the assembly process will take between 12 and 18 months. This will ensure extra entertainment for passengers on board Virgin Australia aircraft.
