On 1 September 2014, Wizz Air announced that it was carrying 15 millions of passengers during 12 months (September 2013-August 2014). This represents an annual increase of 17%, the company registering an average loading rate of 86% during this period.
At the same time, Wizz Air also celebrated the award of the "Best Operational Excellence Award - Europe" by Airbus, in recognition of the outstanding operational performance of 2012 and 2013.
John Stepheson, Executive Vice President Wizz Air, said:
"The 15 million passengers carried over 12 months confirm the very high demand for travel opportunities offered by our low fares, available from the 35 countries in which we operate. We look forward to transporting even more passengers on the 341 routes to 102 destinations, while our fleet will increase to 54 A320 aircraft by the end of 2014 and will satisfy customers' desire to have a personalized travel experience with a range variety of additional services and products ”.
