Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will fly to destinations in Russia and Eastern Europe

At the end of last year, Wizz Air announced that it has the agreement of the local authorities to found the airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. It is intended that this company be founded in partnership with Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company PJSC ("ADDH"). The new company will be the first under the Wizz Air brand outside Europe. 

According to information available in the virtual space, Wizz Air will debut with 3 Airbus A321neo aircraft, and the fleet will grow to 50 aircraft over the next 10 years.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will fly to Eastern Europe

Information also appeared with the first markets with potential to fly from Abu Dhabi. These are Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro. But also to destinations in Russia. The Bucharest-Abu Dhabi route would not be excluded, but it remains to be seen what will happen.

The new Wizz Air Abu Dhabi carrier is expected to be formed as a joint venture and is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2020. The company will focus on launching routes to markets where Wizz Air already has existing operations, with significant growth, especially in Central, Eastern and Western Europe, but also in the long-term in the Indian subcontinent, Middle East and Africa.

On future routes, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi could compete with Air Arabia Abu Dhabi (a new airline founded by Etihad Airways and Air Arabia).
