Wizz Air adds 10 new routes to Budapest base
Wizz Air, the largest low cost - low cost airline in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe announces the addition of the sixth aircraft in Budapest and will inaugurate new routes in the coming months to 10 served destinations. This expanding stage will increase Wizz Air's capacity in Hungary to 33 million seats per year.
The sixth aircraft, from a series of new aircraft announced, will operate the first flights in April 2012, to Malaga (Spain), Bucharest and Cluj (Romania), Warsaw (Poland), Sofia (Bulgaria), Larnaca (Cyprus) ) and Heraklion, Zakynthos, Rhodos, Thessaloniki (Greece). With these new developments and due to the growth announced last week, Wizz Air has added to the existing network, over 1 million seats. New routes can already be booked on wizzair.com.
In addition, Wizz Air offers passengers unprecedented promotion - 2500 seats are available from 9 Euro.
Wizz Air also intends to introduce flights to markets outside Europe, such as Tel Aviv, Kiev, Moscow and Istanbul, for the first time.
Due to the growth in Budapest, Wizz Air is in the process of recruiting 100 people, bringing the total number of Budapest employees to 400. In addition, approximately 2000 jobs were created in industries serving Wizz Air operations.
