Wizz Air expands to Bucharest / 1 plane plus 2 new routes

Wizz Air today announced the expansion of its base in Bucharest by allocating a new Airbus A321 aircraft and launching two new routes to Memmingen in Germany and Castellón in Spain, as well as increasing the frequency on six of its existing routes.

Wizz Air is expanding to Bucharest. It will allocate a new Airbus A321 aircraft and will launch 2 new routes in 2019. The new Airbus A321 aircraft will join the Wizz Air fleet in Bucharest in March 2019 and will represent an additional investment of 120 of millions of dollars. This will facilitate the creation of 42 of new direct jobs with the airline locally.

Wizz Air is expanding to Bucharest

With the arrival of the new state-of-the-art aircraft in Bucharest, the Wizz Air fleet will increase to 11 aircraft, offering a total capacity of 4,3 million seats in 2019.

Starting April 2019, one of the newest Wizz Air routes will connect Bucharest with Memmingen, Germany, the authentic Bavarian city, which offers the fascinating charm of the German countryside. Having its origins in the Roman Empire, the old city, with its many courtyards, castles and patrician houses, palaces and defense walls, is one of the best preserved in southern Germany.

Castellón, Spain, the second new destination of Wizz Air and the 144th destination in the WIZZ network - is one of the richest culturally, historically and geographically provinces in Spain. Endless mountains and beaches, but also historical sites are waiting to be visited.

The new aircraft will increase frequencies on six of the existing Wizz Air routes in Bucharest, namely Dortmund, London, Doncaster-Sheffield, Bologna, Treviso and Eindhoven.

The first flight from Bucharest took off in 2012 and, since then, the airline has become the main air carrier in Romania. In the first ten months of 2018, WIZZ transported more than 7 millions of passengers on its low-cost routes to and from Romania, representing an increase of 13% from year to year.

    Hello! A route from Spain..respectively Valencia or Castellon… to Suceava… would be ideal !! do you think there would be chances for such a route ?? thank you !!!!
