Wizz Air in new numbers and routes from 2013

Earlier this month, Wizz Air has launched the new luggage policy in Romania, on which occasion Daniel de Carvalho, Corporate Communications Manager Wizz Air, presented some figures about the low-cost operator.

Most of the presentation focused on Romania and the achievements of Wizz Air in our country. This is how I learned that the Hungarian operator will transport approximately 3.1 million passengers from / to Romania and is one of the main markets in which it operates. Moreover, Daniel de Carvalho said that Wizz Air can be considered a Romanian company, having 4 bases and operates 50 routes, from 5 airports. From the 39 fleet of aircraft, 10 are allocated to bases in Romania.

Globally, Wizz Air has 16 bases in 9 countries and operates over 250 routes from 29 countries to 81 destinations. Most of the bases are in Eastern Europe.

And it won't stop here. Wizz Air has big plans for 2013 and has announced new routes from Târgu Mureş. The first flight to Memmingen - Munich will be held on 1 April 2013, cel to Frankfurt in 18 May, and the other to Forli - Bologna In 20 May, the price of a ticket for each of these races is 93 lei, with all taxes included.

The number of passengers from the Târgu Mures relationship will reach 300.000 next year, he estimated the commercial director of the airline, Abran Gyorgy.

The third aircraft was assigned to Cluj and new routes were announced Bari, Brussels Charleroi and Eindhoven, starting in May 2013. They will be operated on twice a week. Wizz Air operates 15 routes from Cluj-Napoca and will carry over 730.000 passengers in 2013.

In connection with the fleet, Wizz Air has 39 of operational Airbus A320 and 118 on demand. Maintenance and service are provided by Lufthansa Technik. An advantage of the low-cost operators is the use of a single type of aircraft, thus the maintenance costs are lower.
