Wizz Air in partnership with Budapest Airport and by supporting the candidacy Budapest at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, presented today the aircraft with a livery specific to Budapest.

As part of sponsoring Budapest's bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games at 2024, Wizz Air has customized an aircraft Airbus A320 and a A321 within its Budapest fleet with unique graphics, design elements ”Budapest NO".

The details symbolize the waves of the Danube, a river that runs through the city center, as well as the Statue of Liberty, a historical monument located on one of the highest hills of the Hungarian capital.

A321 aircraft with a special design to promote "Budapest 2024" joined the fleet on 24 November, and soon will be followed by an A320 aircraft, which will operate commercial flights starting with 1 December 2016. Both aircraft will be registered for the entire duration of the candidacy campaign for organizing the Olympic and Paralympic Games, until 31 August 2017.

As the main airline in Hungary, Wizz Air has constantly expanded its operations in the country. The company is currently operating two bases in Hungary, Budapest and Debrecen, with a total of 11 aircraft allocated and another recently announced to join the Budapest fleet starting April 2017.

The company has over 1.000 of employees who train flight crews, cabin crews and hold office or support functions. In the last 12 months, up to 31 October 2016, Wizz Air carried 3,4 millions of passengers on its low-cost routes from Budapest, indirectly supporting over 2.300 jobs.

Wizz Air has already announced four new routes to be launched on 2017, including attractive destinations such as Faro, Hannover, Bergen (Norway) and Lamezia Terme.

WIZZ is also a strong supporter of sport and an active lifestyle, with the Wizz Air Budapest Semi-Marathon reaching this year's third edition and attracting over 13.500 runners from all over the world to the Hungarian capital.

To mark the reveal of this special livery, Wizz Air launches “Spot the Budapest Plane” competition, calling on all aircraft lovers to search for the special aircraft from Budapest. Take a picture with the promotion aircraft ”Budapest NO"And post it on Instagram with the hashtag #WIZZBudapest2024. The best two photos will each be awarded with a Wizz Air voucher worth 200 euros and a special gift.
