Wizz Air celebrates 2 years in Sibiu / A new aircraft and 5 new routes
Wizz Air, the largest airline in Romania and one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe, celebrates 2 years since the opening of the base in Sibiu by allocating the second aircraft and launching 5 new routes.
Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats will support the operation of the latest available flights now from Sibiu to Copenhagen, Tel Aviv, Paris Beauvais, Basel and Frankfurt Hahn, as well as increasing frequencies to 4 popular destinations: London Luton, Memmingen, Nuremberg and Dortmund.
In total, the WIZZ program in Sibiu will have another 20 of additional weekly flights departing from the local airport.
Operations at WIZZ base in Sibiu increased by 70% in 2018, and the company offers almost half a million places for sale to 11 destinations, in 8 countries, with low prices starting from only 39 of lei / segment.

The total investment in Sibiu exceeds 200 millions of dollars (the approximate price of the 2 aircraft) and supports the local labor market through those over 70 of aviation professionals and more than 350 of jobs per year in the affiliated industries of region.
In the first five months of 2018, the growing demand for WIZZ services and low prices was reflected in more than 110.000 of passengers transported, who traveled from or to Sibiu.
A new aircraft and 5 new routes
In the last four years, since the beginning of the operations in Sibiu, the company has offered accessible travel opportunities from the Transylvanian city to some of the most popular destinations in Europe and beyond, contributing, at the same time, to the development of the local community and economy, as well as to stimulation of the labor market in aviation and tourism.
From the first Wizz Air flight from Sibiu to 2014, more than 653.000 passengers enjoyed the low WIZZ fares, easy booking system and excellent on-board services to and from Sibiu.

From Romania, Wizz Air currently offers 142 routes to 22 of countries (including a domestic flight on the Bucharest - Cluj route) from Europe, from 10 airports. In 2018, 20 new routes have already been announced in Romania, such as to Athens from Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, Nice, Lion or Malmo and Thessaloniki from Iasi.
