Between June 1 and September 13, 2015, Wizz Air will temporarily suspend the operations at Craiova Airport (CRA) due to the runway renovation works, which will take place during the summer.
The investment aims at the rehabilitation of the landing-take-off runway of Craiova Airport, the widening of the toll road, the extension of the boarding-disembarkation platform, the modernization of the bollarding facility, the construction of a transformer station, and the creation of a new sewerage system. "Temporary suspension of operations should help airport representatives complete the runway's renovation and restoration within a reasonable time, even earlier than planned," said Daniel de Carvalho, Wizz Air spokesman. “As a dedicated partner of Craiova, we are pleased to support the track improvement project, which will benefit the region for many years from now. We look forward to resuming our operations in Craiova later, this year, on a completely renovated track. "
Wizz Air aircraft and personnel serving Craiova operations will be relocated to other markets during runway work.
