Wizz Air suspends all flights from Timisoara, Sibiu and Craiova
Wizz Air announced today, March 24, that it will suspend all operations in Timisoara, Sibiu and Craiova starting March 25, 2020, local time 00.00. Flights will be canceled by May 1, 2020.
The measures are taken as a result of restrictions by the Romanian authorities regarding the movement of foreign nationals in Romania as part of efforts to limit the coronavirus epidemic.
Wizz Air suspends operations in Timișoara, Craiova and Sibiu
All other operations in Romania (Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Suceava, Constanța, Tîrgu Mureș and Satu Mare) remain active, but with the restrictions imposed by the different countries to which Wizz Air operates from the respective airports.
Passengers with reservations affected by the flight suspension will be automatically notified by email if they have booked directly on wizzair.com or through the mobile application.
Customers will automatically receive in the customer account WIZZ 120% of the amount paid for the trip, an amount that can be used over the next 24 months to purchase Wizz Air products and services. Passengers can choose to reimburse the money - which will take longer - and they will be informed about the steps required for a bank transfer or transfer to a bank card through a separate email.
In this case, customers will only be able to receive 100% of the amount paid initially. Passengers who have booked through travel agencies - including online travel agencies - should contact the agency where they purchased their tickets.
Wizz Air apologizes for any inconvenience these travel restrictions may cause to customers and assures them that the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain the company's top priorities.
