Wizz Air suspends all flights from Romania to the UK, Switzerland and the Netherlands

Wizz Air today announced that it is suspending routes between Romania and the UK, Switzerland and the Netherlands starting April 5th. The decision is in effect until April 18 inclusive.

The measures are caused by the new travel restrictions imposed by the Romanian authorities on all flights from Romania to these countries, as part of efforts to limit the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the same time, due to the restrictions in Romania, but also in Europe, routes to Belgium, Austria, Spain, France and Germany are suspended until April 30 inclusive.

Passengers with reservations affected by the flight suspension will be automatically notified by email if they have booked directly on wizzair.com or through the mobile application.

Customers will automatically receive in the WIZZ client account 120% of the amount paid for the trip, an amount that can be used over the next 24 months to purchase Wizz Air products and services. Passengers can choose to reimburse the money - which will take longer - and they will be informed about the steps required for a bank transfer or transfer to a bank card through a separate email.

In this case, customers will only be able to receive 100% of the amount paid initially. Passengers who have booked through travel agencies - including online travel agencies - should contact the agency where they purchased their tickets.

Wizz Air apologizes for any inconvenience these travel restrictions may cause to customers and assures them that the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain the company's top priorities.
