Wizz Air, one of the largest low-cost airlines in Europe, is adjusting its winter operating schedule, but also for 2022, giving up more than 100 routes. Most suspended routes are from / to Italy, Spain, Germany and even Romania. Let's not forget that the pandemic limits travel. Most European countries have imposed stricter rules on international travel.

Routes connecting Western Europe to the Middle East, Turkey and North Africa account for almost half of the number of suspended routes. According to traffic analysis, most Wizz Air routes are suspended from Vienna International Airport, 12 in number.

Wizz Air gives up four routes from its base in Bucharest

Other airports affected by this operational adjustment are: Cyprus Larnaca (8 suspended routes), Warsaw (7 suspended routes), Naples (6 suspended routes), Gdansk, Milan Malpensa and Eindhoven (each with 5 suspended routes), Dortmund and Sofia (each with 4 suspended routes).

Adjustments to the operational program were also made from bases in Romania. Wizz Air has given up flights on 4 routes departing from Bucharest; but also on routes from Bacău, Iași, Suceava, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța.

At the same time, dozens of other routes will suffer frequency changes or temporary suspensions in the winter season 2021-2022. Let's not forget that Wizz Air has a vast network of thousands of flights from about 50 bases on hundreds of routes.

Wizz Air is a dynamic company that has continued to fly in a pandemic and has sought to take advantage of every route. But as it all comes down to money and profit, it has the power to launch and suspend routes based on supply and demand. While giving up some routes, others are already scheduled to start in 2022. We remind you that Wizz Air will resume flights on five routes from Craiova and Cluj-Napoca, in 2022.
