Wizz Air UK took off on 3 May

Wizz Air UK Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wizz Air Holdings Plc ("Wizz Air"), announces that it has obtained the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and Operating License (OL) from the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

Wizz Air UK, based at London Luton Airport, began operations on 3 in May, with the first flight between London Luton and Bucharest. Wizz Air UK will have in service 8 new Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft by the end of 2018, representing an investment of 860 million USD and will create 300 new direct jobs for management, pilots and cabin crew.

With the addition of Wizz Air UK, the group will have nearly 9 million seats for sale on routes to and from the UK in 2018, which means an increase of around 14% from year to year.

Wizz Air is now the eighth largest airline operating in the United Kingdom, flying to 74 from destinations in 23 countries, from 9 airports in the UK. The first aircraft operated by Wizz Air UK is an Airbus A320-200 (G-WUKA). It was delivered in March 2018 and is configured in a class with 189 seats.
