Wizz Air will operate 158 weekly flights departing from Bucharest
As we announced yesterday, Wizz Air presented 4 new routes departing from Bucharest - Bucharest - Malta (12 June), Bucharest - Malaga (15 June), Bucharest - Malmo (12 June) and Bucharest - Doncaster Sheffield (13 June) - and a route from Cluj - Cluj - Basel (NOT July).
With these new destinations in Bucharest, Wizz Air will offer 158 weekly flights to 34 destinations, representing an increase of 20%, compared to the previous year (as of July 2014). The company believes that increasing capacity in Bucharest will stimulate the job market in aviation and tourism, while customers will have access to more low-cost services.
John Stephenson, Executive Vice President Wizz Air, said:
“I am pleased to announce a significant new investment in the fleet and increasing the number of jobs at the base in Bucharest. By assigning a new A320 aircraft in Bucharest, we show our commitment to Romania, by creating new jobs and stimulating the tourism and hospitality industry. We hope that the new services introduced from Bucharest to Doncaster Sheffield, Malaga, Malmo and Malta will be as popular as those over 30 network routes. Wizz Air reacted promptly to the development opportunities in the key markets and we want to ensure that Romania will continue to enjoy excellent air connections with the rest of Europe. We advise Romanian passengers to enter on wizzair.com and to book their flights for the summer holidays. "
In the summer of this year, Wizz Air will open the 5 base in Romania, in Craiova, 19 from the network.
