Xiamen Airlines, a large Chinese airline with private capital - China Southern Airlines (60%) and Xiamen Construction and Development Group (40%), has entered into a commitment with Boeing to 40 Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft.

The aircraft will be used on domestic and international routes and are intended to meet the growing passenger traffic in Asia-Pacific and China. Even if the operator has private equity, the investment estimated at 3.5 billion is waiting for the Chinese government's approval.

Xiamen Airlines currently operates an all-Boeing fleet - 6 aircraft 757 and 77 aircraft 737. The carrier plans to increase the fleet to 200 aircraft in 2020.

Xiamen Airlines is negotiating for SkyTeam airline membership by the end of this year.
