During 15 September 2020, the authorities of the Republic of Poland decided that, starting with 16 September 2020, it will be possible to resume regular passenger flights on the Romania-Poland route.

The measure adopted by the Warsaw authorities is valid until 29 September 2020. This decision was taken in the context of the adoption by the Polish authorities of new conditions for the operation of flights to / from other countries in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The MFA mentions that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu repeatedly addressed, in discussions with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau, the issue of resuming direct flights between the two states in the recent bilateral dialogue, both during the discussion at the informal Gymnich meeting in Berlin , from 28 August 2020, as well as during the telephone conversation of 11 September 2020.

At the same time, the MFA states that persons traveling to the Republic of Poland from an EU Member State, as well as from the Kingdom of Norway, the Swiss Confederation, the Republic of Iceland and the Principality of Liechtenstein, may continue to enter this state without restrictions or special measures such as mandatory quarantine / self-isolation. . Only random checks on travel documents are carried out at Schengen land border points (with the Federal Republic of Germany, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Lithuania).

Unfortunately, following this decision, the airlines are not in a hurry to resume flights Romania - Poland. The first flights Romania - Poland from LOT are scheduled for October 2, and those from Wizz Air are scheduled for October 26. We will be back with information!
