Aviation and the HoReCa field, two sectors of the economy affected by the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, will be able to limit the effects of this crisis through a joint action plan.

The National Air Transport Company - TAROM announces that, starting with July, it will introduce new domestic routes, which will support the restart of Romanian tourism. Thus, Romanians in the west of the country will be able to reach the coast in less than an hour.

New routes operated by TAROM to Constanta:

• Timisoara - Constanța - Timisoara
• Oradea - Constanța - Oradea
• Cluj Napoca - Constanța - Cluj Napoca

The flights will be carried out in safe conditions, and will have as destination the Mihail Kogălniceanu International Airport in Constanța, from where tourists can quickly reach the resorts on the Black Sea coast or the Danube Delta.

The decision to introduce flights connecting large coastal cities comes after consultations between the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Communications, the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Business Environment through the General Directorate of Tourism, Constanța Prefecture, Oradea City Hall, Timisoara City Hall and City Hall Cluj Napoca, together with TAROM, in the context in which it is estimated that most Romanians will choose, this year, to spend their summer vacation in the country.

According to statistics compiled by tourism promotion associations, it is expected that only 20% of those who will go on holiday this year will choose foreign destinations.

The flights will be operated in maximum safety, in compliance with protection measures, so as to eliminate any risk. Flight schedules and fares will be communicated as soon as possible.
