Air Lease Corporation commissioned 75 from Boeing 737 MAX units

Air Lease Corporation, a large aircraft leasing company founded in 2010 and led by Steven Udvar-Házy, has entered into an agreement with Boeing for 60 of Boeing 737-8 MAX and 15 Boeing 737-9 MAX aircraft. The order amounts to 7.2 billion dollars, according to the list price. This is the first order made by a leasing company for 737 MAX.

The new generation of 737 MAX aircraft will enjoy the facilities found at 737 Next Generation, plus the advantages of CFM International LEAP-1B engines (13% fuel economy and 8% reduction in operating cost / seat).

Air Lease Corporation has so far ordered 170 from Boeing aircraft: 75 737 MAX units; 78 737-800 Next-Generation; 5 777-300ER and 12 787-9 Dreamliners.
