Turkey is one of the favorite holiday destinations of Romanians. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Romanians choose to spend their summer vacation in one of the resorts in Turkey.

The Turkish Riviera, also known as the Turquoise Coast, stretches in southwestern Turkey. It includes the provinces of Antalya, Mugla, Aydin, Izmir and Mersin. The beautiful beaches of Turkey stretch over 1000 kilometers of shore opening to the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.

Turkey seaside resorts

There are dozens of resorts along the entire Turkish coast, but only a few are of interest to foreign tourists, including Romanians. Below we list the ones of interest.

Antalya

When we talk about the coast of Turkey, we think of Antalya. It is one of the most popular resorts in Turkey due to its luxury hotels and resorts. This is where the all-inclusive concept came into play. Resorts in Antalya are recognized in terms of the largest existing resorts in Turkey.

Numerous regional excursions can be made from the Antalya region. You can visit the old town of Antalya; the old port of Antalya; Köprülü Canyon National Park in the Side area; the Roman ruins of Aspendos and Perge, Termessos; Yivli minaret and more.

Bodrum

Bodrum is a port city in the Mugla region, with access to the Aegean Sea. It is a favorite tourist destination of many Romanians, but this is not how famous this resort has become. Herodotus - the father of history - was born in Halicarnassus in ancient Greece, where Bodrum is today.

If you choose to spend your holiday in Bodrum, we recommend that you also enjoy excursions in the region. Visit Bodrum Castle; Bodrum Amphitheater; Windmills and more.

Kusadasi

Kusadasi is a famous and recognized destination in Turkey, thanks to its wide beaches with fine sand. It is said that the sun shines here 10 months a year, and the turquoise waters wash its shore. As extra activities, we recommend you to visit Grand Bazaar, Orient Bazaar and Kusadasi Bazaar, The cave of Zeus or the terraces Pamukkale.

Marmaris

Marmaris is considered a tourist paradise, which attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. Marmaris boasts a beautiful harbor, crowned by a castle and lined with wooden hull yachts. From here, British Admiral Horatio Nelson organized his fleet to attack the French at Abukir in northern Egypt in 1798.

Marmaris is a noisy but beautiful destination. In the port of Marmaris, many cruise ships and luxury yachts stop. Themed parties are organized here for British, German or Russian tourists. Once in Marmaris, you can choose to take regional excursions and visit Marmaris Castle, the old town of Marmaris, or relax in the Armutalan Hamam Turkish Bath. The largest amusement park in Marmaris is Atlantis Waterpark, located on Longbeach Beach.

Each region and resort in Turkey it has its ups and downs, but you will definitely find accommodation for all budgets. Unlike Antalya, where the resorts are extremely generous and most of them have access to the sea, in the other resorts you will find hotels and resorts located in crowded areas, not always with access to the beach. If in Antalya the tendency is to spend as much time as possible in the resorts, in the other resorts it is recommended to go and visit different tourist attractions in the region. Turkey is a beautiful country, offering, and extremely affordable prices. You can travel to Turkey by bus, personal car or plane.
