An important new stage in the development of the first Airbus A321XLR. Airbus has begun front assembly of the first A321XLR fuselage. The nose and front of the fuselage were developed in Saint-Nazaire in western France.

Less than two months after the start of structural assembly of the rear and central fuselage, in Germany, the Airbus team is taking another important step in the production of structural assembly of the front.

"This is a key milestone for the A321XLR. We are on the right track to support the entry into operation of the aircraft by 2023, ”said Martin Schnoor, head of the A321XLR program.

The front of the fully assembled and equipped fuselage will be delivered from Saint-Nazaire to Hamburg for the final assembly of the first A321XLR aircraft in the fourth quarter. According to the assembly and certification plan, we hope to see the new A321XLR in flight in the first part of 2022, and the entry into commercial service is scheduled for 2023.
