Finnair will operate flights to 60 popular holiday destinations. The Finnish airline Finnair is developing its flight schedule this summer, with a focus on leisure destinations, as the launch of the vaccine is expected to allow travel to reopen in many countries.

In June, Finnair will resume flights to destinations such as Reykjavik, Bodø, Nice, Lisbon and Vilnius. Additional frequencies will be added for flights to Greek islands such as Rhodes, Chania and Santorini, as well as Mallorca, Malaga and Alicante, Spain. Finnair's summer destinations in Italy include Rome, Milan and Venice.

In North America, the launch of the vaccine has progressed well, and Finnair will resume flights to Chicago and Los Angeles in mid-June and increase frequencies on the New York route by up to three flights a week. The restart of these flights is still subject to US travel restrictions.

The use of a mask is mandatory for all customers and crew, both on board the aircraft and at the airport. Finnair encourages customers to arrive at the airport in a timely manner before the flight, as travel document checks take longer than usual.

In in accordance with the recommendation of the Finnish Health Authority, Finnair requires customers traveling to Finland to present a negative COVID-19 test certificate or proof of previous COVID-19 infection. As of May 11, Finnair is also accepting a COVID-19 vaccination certificate. Passengers aged 12-15 do not need to present a document.

Finnair launches Finnair Corona Cover.

Travel restrictions are likely to change in many countries during the summer. To facilitate travel planning, Finnair will introduce insurance so that those who want to travel can explore the available destinations and keep up with the latest travel restrictions in different countries.

Finnair also has a flexible ticket change policy for all bookings made until 31 August 2021. This means that customers can change their travel dates regardless of their ticket type. Finnair Corona Cover has been extended and will be included in bookings made until June 30, 2021. Insurance is provided at no extra cost for all airline tickets purchased for trips departing on / before August 31, 2021 and not exceeding 31 days and which were purchased through the Finnair website or mobile app.

This coverage is available for customers traveling abroad from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain or Ireland. Finnair Corona Cover is designed to supplement other travel insurance you have and provides additional coverage if you take out COVID-19 while you are at your destination.
