The 145 young people aged 657 registered to obtain one of the 18 available travel permits received the results of the round of applications yesterday, May 35 DiscoverEU from March 2023.

Selected candidates will travel individually or in groups of up to five people between June 15, 2023 and September 30, 2024.

Maria Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, said: "The DiscoverEU program was launched five years ago, and has since seen over one million sign-ups from young people keen to take part. This impressive number of entries highlights that our young people are interested in learning about other cultures and interacting with each other. I also know that young people care a lot about building a sustainable, inclusive and beautiful future. That is why we have published the itineraries of the new European Bauhaus I believe that exploring these innovative and visionary cities will be a source of lasting inspiration. I wish all participants well and have a great time on their DiscoverEU journey.”

Participants will travel by train, but exceptions are made so that young people living on islands or in remote areas can also participate. In this round, applications were accepted from among young citizens, born between July 1, 2004 and June 30, 2005, from EU member states, as well as from Erasmus + associated countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey).
