KLM will fly to 167 destinations in the summer season 2022

With direct flights to 167 destinations, KLM is ready for the 2022 summer season. Between March 27 and October 29, KLM will fly to 96 European destinations and 71 intercontinental destinations, offering an excellent choice for both business and leisure travelers.

KLM increases the number of flights in Europe

Demand for air travel is growing as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted in the Netherlands and other EU countries. KLM has responded to this demand by expanding capacity on European routes by 10% compared to last year, almost equaling the level of 2019. This means about 16 million seats in total. The Portuguese cities of Porto and Lisbon, with three and four flights a day, respectively, are just a few of the destinations that are seeing an increase in KLM flights.

The success of new destinations, such as Belgrade, Dubrovnik and Palma de Mallorca, which were added to the KLM route network last year, will again be included in the 2022 summer program. from Germany, Poland, Great Britain, etc.

Services to Kyiv, St. Petersburg and Moscow will be suspended during the war in Ukraine. KLM is closely following developments in the region.

KLM increases transport capacity on intercontinental routes

KLM also increased the capacity of its intercontinental route network by 17% compared to last year, in response to a growing trend in bookings. This summer, KLM will operate daily flights to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, increasing the frequency to Curaçao twice a day during the summer holiday season. Port of Spain, the new tropical destination added to the winter program, is also included in the summer program, with KLM offering three weekly flights between Amsterdam and the capital Trinidad and Tobago.

KLM will fly to 12 destinations in the USA

 KLM's capacity to the US, from the summer season 2022, matches that of 2019. This year, KLM will operate flights to 12 destinations in the US, this being the largest number of routes in the KLM network operated between the Netherlands and the US in all the history of the Dutch company. 

New destination Austin, the capital of the state of Texas, is a thriving technology center and hosts a large number of technology companies. It is also a thriving student city with a vibrant nightlife. Austin is also a recognized destination for Formula One racing and the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) festival. KLM operates three flights a week between Amsterdam and Austin.

Demand for ASIA destinations is rising

Demand for ASIA destinations has also increased. Although Covid-19 travel restrictions vary from country to country, demand is growing for destinations such as the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Bali. India has also indicated that it will reduce travel restrictions. KLM will respond by increasing frequencies to Delhi and Mumbai. Asia continues to be a strong and important commodity market.

KLM has also increased transport capacity to destinations in South America. KLM flies daily to Sao Paulo, Panama City and Lima. KLM has six flights a week to Quito / Guayaquil, Bogota / Cartagena, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires / Santiago de Chile.

Passengers wishing to fly to Africa this summer can now choose from ten destinations. Capacity has been expanded on many routes compared to last summer to meet growing demand. Zanzibar is also included in the 2022 summer program. KLM also operates services to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Accra, Lagos, Kigali, Entebbe, Nairobi, Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam.

KLM operates up to three daily flights from Bucharest

Currently, KLM offers up to three daily rotations between Bucharest and Amsterdam, with flights scheduled to take off from Bucharest at 07:00; 13:55 and 18:05.
