Novak Djokovic's sad 11-day trip to Australia is over. The world number one in tennis departed from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, destination Dubai, United Arab Emirates, aboard a Boeing 1 Emirates Airline (registered A777-ECV).
Authorities in Australia rejected his visa waiver and forced him to leave the country as soon as possible. Novak Djokovic was also ordered to pay the costs.
The dramatic story of Novak Djokovic's trip to Australia began on January 4th. Djokovic entered Australia with a "medical exemption" to take part in a new Australian Open tennis tournament. However, the authorities refused his visa and so the player was forced to spend three days in an immigrant room in a Melbourne hotel.
A series of appeals and trials ensued, with Serb Novak Djokovic hoping to stay, play and win his 10th Australian title. But Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke has revoked his visa. Djokovic has been described as a risk to "society”. Australian authorities have feared widespread anti-vaccine protests. Thus, the federal court admitted that the Australian Minister Alex Hawke acted justifiably.
Immediately after the sentence, Novak Djokovic was forced to leave Australia with the same company with which he traveled to enter the country. Most likely, the Serb will continue his journey from Dubai to his native Serbia.
