Seychelles will reopen to tourists, regardless of vaccination status, starting March 25. The announcement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde.
However, visitors from South Africa will not be able to enter, and this decision will be reviewed in the coming weeks.
Visitors will be required to submit a negative PCR test performed 72 hours prior to departure. There will be no quarantine requirements and no traffic restrictions on entry into Seychelles. In addition, the minimum stay in units approved by the authorities upon arrival on the island will no longer be applicable.
Visitors will continue to be required to comply with public health measures.
However, visitors will still be required to comply with the public health measures implemented which will include wearing masks, social distancing and regular sanitation or hand washing.
The new measures also give visitors access to all common areas within the hotels, including bars, swimming pools, spas and children's playgrounds.
Minister Radegonde said the decision to review and relax the island's entry and reopening procedures for tourism was possible given the success of the country's aggressive vaccination campaign, which began earlier this year.
Seychelles will continuously review entry measures to ensure that the health and safety of visitors and the local population are not endangered.
