White House aide Kevin Munoz has finally revealed dates when the United States will reopen the border for vaccinated travelers from the 26 Schengen countries, Ireland and the United Kingdom, among others.

In a tweet, Secretary Munoz confirmed that tourists from Europe will be able to enter the US territory starting November 8, both by air and by land.

"The new US travel policy will take effect on November 8. Applies to international as well as ground travel. This policy is guided by strict and consistent public health", Wrote the press secretary.

However, the message does not provide further details on what will be acceptable evidence of vaccination and other operational details, although it states that these details will be published well before 8 November.

The US will accept vaccines approved by the FDA or the World Health Organization (WHO).

To date, the list of vaccines approved by the WHO are:

  • Pfizer/BioNTech
  • AstraZeneca (including Covishield)
  • Janssen
  • Modern
  • Synopharm
  • A nephew

The lifting of the ban on entering the US for vaccinated travelers was announced on September 20, however, since then, the authorities have not given any date in this regard. At least not until today. The unknown date aroused anger among many, especially those who have been waiting for a long time to join their loved ones in the USA.

The decision to lift the November 8 ban has been celebrated by many, including Airlines for America (A4A), which is the top US airline organization. It should be mentioned that The USA does not recommend trips to Romania due to the pandemic situation.
