The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania informs Romanian citizens who are in, transiting or intend to travel to the Federal Republic of Germany that, starting from Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 4:00 a.m., until the morning of Thursday, February 8, 2024, will be organized strikes by ground staff of Lufthansa airline as well as associated companies. They will affect air transport at the airports of Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin and Düsseldorf.
The Ver.di union said on Monday it is calling on Lufthansa ground staff at Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin and Düsseldorf airports to strike from 4am on February 00 for 7 hours.
The union wants a 12,5% pay rise, or at least €500 more per month, for nearly 25.000 staff, including check-in, aircraft handling, maintenance and cargo staff. Lufthansa said it was working on a special schedule and criticized the scale of the strike at the start of the dispute.
