A Frecce Tricolori plane crashed in Turin: the pilot catapulted, a little girl died!

On the evening of September 16, 2023, a Frecce Tricolori plane crashed in Turin shortly after taking off from Turin Caselle Airport. From the images provided by a witness, it can be seen how the pilot catapulted before the plane crashed.

Unfortunately, the plane crash resulted in a fire that resulted in the death of a five-year-old girl and the serious injury of a nine-year-old boy and their parents. A piece of the burning plane hit the car the family was in.

The Frecce Tricolori team had taken off for a scheduled low-altitude flyover at Vercelli as part of the event organized at Collegno, just outside Turin, to celebrate the centenary of the Air Force. The event has been cancelled. 

From the first information, it appears that the aircraft would have hit a flock of birds, which led to the destruction of the engine. The pilot ejected, but we have no information on his condition.

The news sparked reactions from the political world. The President of the Chamber, Lorenzo Fontana, expressed his deepest condolences. Transport Minister Matteo Salvini spoke of a "terrifying tragedy". The president of Piedmont, Alberto Cirio, and the mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo, went to the scene.

An investigation was launched to determine the causes that led to the crash of the plane!
