On April 9, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Alexandru Nazare, endorsed an intermodal project with financing of EUR 2 million from European funds for Cluj Airport.
The project has a value of 2 million euros, the financing to be provided in proportion of 50% of non-reimbursable TEN-T funds and 50% of own funds of the airport.
The studies assumed by this project aim to create a complex infrastructure that will connect the current passenger terminals and the services offered to the rail network for passengers, as well as the realization of a freight connection between the rail network and the Cargo terminal.
During the 7.05-13.05 2012 period, Cluj-Napoca International Airport will be closed to air traffic, in order to carry out a new stage of repair works at the take-off runway.
