The decision of the management of DAN AIR to move air operations from Braşov International Airport to "George Enescu" Bacău International Airport took us by surprise and we believe that it is a conjunctural decision with commercial implications, generated by the air operator's inability to ensure from Braşov the already published races.
The management of Braşov International Airport had and continues to have a good relationship with DAN AIR - the first company that had the confidence and openness to start flights at Romania's newest airport from the very first day of operation, for which we express our thanks.
Immediately after the operationalization of Braşov Airport, we started the steps to extend the operating schedule and constantly communicated with the interested parties and the decision-makers on this topic, in order to identify a solution as quickly as possible, which would support airlines interested in initiating or to expand the operational activity at Braşov Airport and implicitly of our passengers.
The solution identified, namely the extension of the schedule from 12 to 16 hours starting on January 15, 2024, was the most feasible, considering that it is necessary to supplement the staff that activates the Braşov Airport and implicitly carry out a specific training cycle for each institution , by the new employees.
With the implementation of the 16-hour operating schedule, we wish and express our hope that the relationship with DAN AIR, as well as with the other companies interested in Braşov Airport, will continue, for the benefit of all and in the best interest of the passengers.
From December, Flylili will start operating flights from Brașov
From December 2023, a new company will start operating at Brasov International Airport with three weekly flights to two destinations in Germany – Munich and Stuttgart, and we are exploring the possibility of this operator providing flights to new destinations.
Next week we will initiate concrete discussions with the company's management for the operationalization of other destinations, including the coverage of destinations provided by DAN AIR, all the more so since this operator has expressed its intention to open an operational base in Braşov. As before, we remain in contact and continue discussions with several airlines interested in the potential of Brasov Airport and we are convinced that after January 15, 2024 we will resume the upward development trend, both in terms of the number of insured destinations and the number of passengers which we will account for month by month.
