Virgin Atlantic, a British operator with operations in London Heathrow and Gatwick, has selected Airbus A350-1000 for the modernization of the widebody fleet. He has ordered 8 delivery aircraft from 2019 and 4 will be leased from Air Lease Corporation (ALC).

Airbus A350-1000, the largest in the A350 XWB family, was chosen after a thorough evaluation and analysis of the alternative models.
To begin with, Virgin Atlantic wants to deploy the new aircraft on long-haul transatlantic flights departing from London Heathrow. It will then expand operations on vacation routes from London Gatwick to the Caribbean. The A350-1000 aircraft will be configured in 3 classes and will be able to offer the comfort and reliability of the A350 XWB range. The new aircraft will join the existing 10 Airbus A330-300 in the Virgin Atlantic fleet!
