EURO 2024 is the football event of the year and many Romanians want to be with the national team at the final tournament organized by Germany between June 14 and July 14. Our team was placed in Group E, along with Belgium, Slovakia and Ukraine.

The "Tricolori" are guaranteed three matches in the group, to which we can add those in the elimination stages, in case we get the qualification. The top two ranked teams from each group reach the eighth, along with the four best third-place finishers.

Romania will play in Munich, Cologne and Frankfurt, according to the following schedule:

  • June 17, 16:00 p.m.: ROMANIA – Ukraine (Allianz Arena, Munich)
  • June 22, 22:00: Belgium - ROMANIA (Rhein Energie, Cologne)
  • June 26, 19:00: Slovakia - ROMANIA (Waldstadion, Frankfurt)

Romania qualified for the European Championship in first place, managing to overcome a much stronger team, Switzerland. We had an iron defense in the preliminaries, and this is one of the arguments we have in the final tournament. In addition, we also have a fairly accessible group, in which only Belgium looks like an opponent to be feared, while with Ukraine and Slovakia we can fight on equal footing.

If you are wondering which teams you have the best chance of seeing in the finals in Berlin, a possible answer can be found on the platforms with odds of winning EURO 2024. England and France are the highest rated teams, followed by Germany, Spain, Portugal and Belgium.

How do you get to Munich by plane?

If you are among the lucky ones with a ticket to the match against Ukraine, scheduled for the Allianz Arena in Munich, you have several options. If you leave from Bucharest, you can fly directly with the Wizz Air company, which introduced special flights for the EURO 2024 matches.

The departure takes place in the morning, from 06:10, so you will arrive in Munich at 07:25. You will thus have a few hours to visit the tourist attractions of Munich. Return flight is scheduled on the same day, after the end of the match, also with Wizz Air.

Another option is to fly with Lufthansa. For those in the morning, there is a flight at 06:00, departing from Otopeni. Another option is to leave at 12:45 and land at 13:50. In this case, you will go from the airport directly to the stadium. The price for a one-way ticket, at the time of writing the article, is over 2.000 lei, so it is quite an expensive option. But if you want a cheaper option, you can choose to fly with Austrian Airlines, with a stopover in Vienna. The total journey time will be 5 hours and 20 minutes and you will arrive in Munich at 14:15.

You can also fly directly to Munich on June 17 from Cluj-Napoca (Wizz Air and Lufthansa) and Timisoara (Lufthansa).

How can you fly to Cologne?

Romania's second match at EURO 2024, against Belgium, will be played in Cologne on June 22. There is only one direct flight option from Bucharest. You can fly with Wizz Air. The departure will take place at 6:05 in the morning and the return will occur the next day either from 08:20 or from 08:45. Another option you have is to fly from Otopeni with a stopover to Vienna with Austrian Airlines + Eurowings. The total journey time will be 4 hours and 45 and you will arrive in Cologne at 10:25.

You can still fly directly to Cologne on June 22 and from Cluj, also departing in the morning, so that you can also visit tourist attractions in this city, including the gorgeous cathedral.

You have several options to reach Romania's last match in the group stage

On June 26, the match against Slovakia will take place, scheduled in Frankfurt. The good part is that you have many options to fly directly that day. Wizz Air, HiSky, Tarom and Lufthansa have direct flights that day from Bucharest, so you have many options, depending on the price you want and the level of comfort you choose. There is also a direct flight Cluj-Frankfurt with the Lufthansa company that day.

It is more difficult to reach the EURO 2024 final

If you have a ticket for the EURO 2024 final, scheduled for July 14 in Berlin, you will need a connecting flight if you want to arrive on the day of the match. The best option from Bucharest is to fly with Austrian Airlines with a stopover in Vienna and arrive at 16:10 in Berlin.
